MSSV11: SMALL BOWEL OBSTRUCTION SECONDARY TO PARTIAL MALROTATION
Alec K Donohue, DO; Ilya Latyshenko, MD; Jason McCartt; Womack Army Medical Center
This case highlights the nuance in diagnosis and management of small bowel obstruction secondary to partial malrotation in the adult patient. This pathology is often misdiagnosed due to presentation of chronic, vague, intermittent abdominal pain with associated nausea and food intolerance. This case demonstrates the role of diagnostic laparoscopy in the setting of equivocal physical exam and radiographic studies in order to provide definitive diagnosis and treatment.
